The Carib House is a luxurious Caribbean colonial style villa located on the south coast of Antigua, close to the entrance of Falmouth Harbour and only 5 minutes off the main road. The villa is built 60' above sea level and is positioned to take advantage of the cooling Caribbean Sea breezes. The house has fantastic views over Falmouth Harbour and the Caribbean Sea and on a clear day you can see the nearby islands of Guadalupe and Montserrat. The nearest beach is only a two minute walk and there are boating marinas available within 10 minutes. A long, gravel driveway leads up to the grand entrance of the villa. A door opens to a huge entrance hallway, an oasis filled with plants.
The use of Trinidadian Mahogany and polished local limestone gives a very warm feeling to the home. All of the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The interiors feature Italian Terracotta and limestone floors and neutral tones. The sitting room has an open plan and the dining area has comfortable seating for 10 and an Indonesian teak dinning table that overlooks the pool and offers fabulous views of the Caribbean Sea and Falmouth Harbour.
The open plan kitchen area comprises stunning polished mahogany work surfaces, a central island with 4 burner stove, stainless steel range and dishwasher. There is also an adjoining utility room.
An American full size oak pool table may be covered to form a tennis table or a dining table that can seat up to 16 guests comfortably. The villa offers outdoor speakers in the gazebo, sitting room and game room.
The villa offers a total of five spacious bedrooms, all screened and with ceiling fans. The Master bedroom has a king sized oak bed, mahogany nightstands, sitting area. The master suite offers an en-suite bathroom with a natural stone double width shower. Double doors open to a private balcony.
A winding stone path and steps lead to the separate cottage that offers stunning views across the swimming pool and the Caribbean Sea. Fully screened, it offers a wrought iron king sized four poster bed and en-suite bath as well as wrap around verandah with comfortable chairs.
A stone staircase leads down to the completely separate garden apartment. It has a covered sitting/dining area, bedroom with wrought iron queen sized bed, ceiling fans and en-suite bath. The apartment has a kitchen as well.
The fourth bedroom has twin beds (which may be put together to form a king) and ceiling fan. This bedroom does not have an en-suite bath but shares a bathroom with the fifth bedroom.
A second sitting area offers over 500 square feet under a pentagonal roof featuring two large Indonesian bamboo sofas, wrought iron arm chairs, terrace and glass topped table perfect for alfresco dining.
The private swimming pool is surrounded by a natural stone patio and offers approximately 2000 square feet of outdoor living area. Tucked away is an outdoor shower that is discreetly screened with plants. Sun lounges and a large umbrella complete the setting.
Note: Additional children's cots and single beds are available.

We had a most wonderfull time staying at the villa! The scenery is fantastic and the house was so amazing.Kids loved the pool and we found it so relaxing just lazing about and reading our books. Lou was just fantastic in helping us with everything and all her suggestions were spot on! I would highly recomend the Carib House to anyone looking for relaxing holiday in a most wonderfull location.
Sitting here, waiting for the taxi, we look back on a beautiful vacation in your fantastic villa! Tomorrow will be back in Holland and we'll miss Lou coming in saying "Hi guys how are you!" You have been a great host! A big hug for you all, and THANKS!! Liesbeth, Pieter-Rim and the kids de Kroon
Fabulous holiday of the old fashoned sort e.g. a porper break from all the bulls--t! Lou and Jonny are a delight. Dont miss Nelson's Dockyard
great place to gather friends from across the map for a week of basking, sailing and touring - we also celebrated Beth's BIG 5-0 birthday here! What memories we have made - Thanx for all the TLC!
When he met us at the airport, Renford aptl described The Carib House as a "nest of Righteousness". Our week here has been more than a dream come true - the house providing every comfort and an unbelievably breath-taking view, Lou coming by ata moment's notice with creams for our burns, Charlie's sublime meals, cheescake, and a bottomless rum punch - we could not have imagined a more perfect escape. Thank you so much for your hospitality, for perfect restaurant and beach recommendations, and for memories that will last well past the NY/NJ chill!
My husband and I were married in Antigua in May 2003, then had our reception at the Carib House - it was the most beautiful wedding I could imagine! We stayed there for a week with our friends, and enjoyed every minute of the pool, the barbeque, and the views! Johnny and Lou were very helpful in offering great suggestions for caterers, and a wine sommelier, and flowers. We will look back forever and remember our memories here.

We cannot thank you enough. Our month long stay at The Carib House was perfect. Our children could not have enjoyed a more wonderful vacation! Please use us as references whenever you would like. We cannot think of a negative part of the month. We are trying to figure out how to duplicate the cottage house here, but we cannot quite get the "tradewinds" right!. Our sincerest thanks again for a month of lifelong memories. Jeff & Eileen

Our group stayed in the house in 2001 and loved it from the beginning to the end. The web view was just as it stated and better. We did not want to leave. The owner was there everyday to do the pool and little things because his manager was on vacation and he did not have to do this. Ask for Remy if you want a cook. You have not eaten until you have experience his cooking. He even has a little place for eating and drinking. We wanted to bring him home with us. The people and the area is great. Enjoy the ocean breeze every day and night. We are going back because we loved it.

WOW, We still canât stop thinking about what a wonderful time we had at the Carib House. The house was lovely & spectacular. Lou, Jonny, Mathew & Joshie were wonderful and our wedding was perfect. The Carib House was the perfect location for our small wedding. Liz (outstanding job planning the car hire, sail boat, and mostly our wedding), Lou & Jonny were great! We never expected such personal service. Everyone helped with our wedding, from getting our wedding documentation sorted to being a part of our wedding. I cannot forget the fabulous wedding dinner that Charlie prepared!! I especially liked when Jonny arrived the morning of our wedding with a bunch of fresh flowers he gathered out of his yardâ¦and ending the night in a wool tuxedo, very nice touch. Not many owners would do something so thoughtful. Your personal recommendations on where to eat, drink and shop were all great. Everyone we met had a special glow about them, making our trip perfect. I loved the girls at the Tree House too! They made me feel like a princess with all of their pampering. Our day of sailing on âPandamaniaâ with Capt. Rik and his wife was perfect. And, our first scuba dive with Caroline and her father could not have been a better experience. We also wish that there were more Renfordâs in the worldâ¦.he was a hoot! Please give everyone a big hug from Dave and myself and tell them we will be back next year to hug everyone ourselves. Two words come to mind about the experience, people and place; âGenuine & Stunningâ.

We had a marvellous holiday and could not have been happier with the villa. It was absolutely wonderful and the owner was extremely kind and helpful. He went out of his way to provide us with a everything we could possibly need.
