Set amongst six acres of native tropical gardens and with 325 feet of beachfront, Villa Camilla is one of the largest and last remaining private beachfront properties along this world famous, 12-mile stretch of beach.
Just across the dunes, you'll find fine, sugar white sand and water so turquoise it doesn't seem real. And the coral reef that begins nearby just off shore teems with colorful tropical fish. Don your mask and snorkel in glorious Princess Alexandra Marine Park or enjoy any of the island's many activities, nightlife, restaurants, and other adventures, all nearby to Villa Camilla.
Villa Camilla is a sun-filled beach residence with a handsome, two-story gate leading into a soaring atrium that connects all rooms. A graceful spiral staircase leads to the spacious second story living room, dining room, kitchen and decks. As you reach the top of the staircase, you cannot help but gasp at the beautiful view...khaki sea grass dotting low rolling dunes and a wide, brilliantly white beach that slips softly into a turquoise bay so serene you can hardly tell where it meets the sky.
On Villa Camilla's east deck, you can enjoy morning coffee in the sun or read in the shade in the afternoon. The large deck on the west just off the living room is ideal for dining and lounging and watching Provo's magnificent sunsets with rum punch in hand.
For restful nights or afternoon naps, Villa Camilla offers three spacious air-conditioned bedrooms each with its own bath and secluded deck. For your comfort, the master bedroom is equipped with a king bed and the other two bedrooms may be configured at your request as either kings or twins.
My friends and I went to Provo for the first time for a girls weekend/birthday getaway. Three of us stayed in the main house of Villa Camilla and two stayed in one of the guest houses. The location was perfect - right between Coral Gardens and The Beach House with quick access to the beach (we used the beach chairs at The Beach House in exchange for buying drinks and tipping the staff). We took advantage of our own private pool as well. The house had everything we needed including a mid-week full cleaning by the housekeepers. Everything was clean, secure and very comfortable. Villa Camilla is within walking distance of the Children's Park where the Thursday night fish fry happens - highly recommend attending! Cabs are somewhat spendy so we rented a car and they delivered the car right to our house. Having a house was a great way to save a little on the expense of eating out. We hit the IGA for groceries and made rum punch. Local good spots for dinner (Da Conch Shack, Somewhere, Mango Reef, Tiki Hut). All in all our stay exceeded our expectations and I would return to Villa Camilla in a heartbeat.
We had a wonderful time and I especially loved being in what felt like a tree house within a tropical botanical garden. Arriving was magical - coming in through a canopied tunnel. We actually didn't leave except for a promised ice cream treat for the children. With the children, having the pool and then then beach within walking distance, was perfect. The house has everything one could need with many separate areas for just looking out at the amazing view. We walked down the beach to restaurants. We are definitely headed back.
The location was wonderful, house was fabulous and one of the best beaches we have ever visited! Highly recommend Villa Camilla
My husband and I just spent an exquisite week at Villa Camilla celebrating our babymoon. The house is stunning - particularly its gorgeous vistas of Grace Bay, amazing tropical gardens, proximity to the beach, incredible private pool (a true oasis!), spacious layout, fresh breezes, and sense of privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed sunsets on the deck (as well as the house-recommended recipe for rum punch (rum-free for me!!)). For those who like to cook, we recommend the grill on the spacious deck. The nearest supermarket is about a five minute drive from Villa Camilla, making it quite convenient to stock up on food and drink! Though somewhat limited in activity levels due to pregnancy, while in Provo, we enjoyed long walks along and swims in Grace Bay and the Villa Camilla pool, a trek to Malcolm Beach and the North Point National Park, a trip to Bugaloo's in Five Cays, the Concha Wonka tour (including Conch Farm, Cultural Center, and Conch Shack), and a lovely snorkel cruise aboard the Atabeyra. We also enjoyed outstanding cuisine; among our favorites: Hemingway's, the Sunday night beach barbeque at the Seven Stars resort, the Tiki Hut, Somewhere, the Beach House, and Magnolia (phenomenal!!). For afternoon drinks (non-alcoholic for me!), we enjoyed Somewhere, the bar at the Gansevoort (ask for Desmond), and the Villa Camilla deck. We loved our time at this beautiful home and on this special island, and only wish we had been able to stay longer. We look forward to returning in the not-too-distant future with our little one in tow!! Cannot recommend highly enough - magnificent in all respects. Villa Camilla is a true gem!
Our family spent a week in August at Villa Camilla and it was splendid. We drove to the Villa and were impressed with the layout. Although my wife was recuperating from surgery, we were able to enjoy ourselves throughout the week. The pool and short walk to the beach were enough to keep us occupied. Our daughter loved it since we were able to snorkel in water so clear with beautiful fish. Having a kitchen was wonderful as we used it often and ate on the balcony admiring the beautiful view. The only suggestion is to increase the internet speed/connectivity. a Camilla. We met several friendly locals!!! We'll definitely visit again :-)
My friends and I just returned from an absolutely perfect vacation at Villa Camilla. We have all traveled throughout the Caribbean and rent a villa every December. This was definitely a great find-we unanimously agreed that a return visit is a MUST! The villa was just as lovely as the pictures on the web site. It was very comfortable with a charming tropical feel. It is well planned out to take advantage of the beauty of the island. The location was great. The view from the upper deck simply could not be beat. Grace Bay is one of the best in the Caribbean-we had that as well as a great pool and tropical gardens! When we weren't enjoying a relaxing evening on the deck, our favorites for drinks and dining were the Sharkbite, the Tiki Hut, and Somewhere (right next door). We also had drinks at Da Conch Shack and Las Brisas. We were well taken care of by Sharon and Charlene. We are eagerly looking forward to our return visit!
What a fantastic and painless vacation - no fuss, no worries. Having a private pool was such a gift - best snorkeling on island steps away from back door - then into the pool for more relaxation. Everything we needed was in the house. Every room has a deck. Morning coffee and afternoon happy hours were serene and lovely from the main deck. Wonderful restaurants 2 min walk on the beach from the house. The privacy and grounds of the home are splendid and well kept. We will definitely return to this rental! Our party of 4- all of whom are well traveled, greatly appreciated this vacation home.
Our party of 5 adults and 1 child (10 years old) stayed at the Villa Camilla main house. We found the house to be well-suited for our vacation needs. All agreed it was an excellent choice and we would highly recommend it. The 3 bedrooms are ideal for a group of 6; each has plenty of space, dedicated air conditioning, and an ensuite bathroom. The second story living area is also quite spacious and includes a well-equipped kitchen. It benefits from a large screened opening in the front of the house which creates continuous natural air flow. Even in late July there was no need for air conditioning and the feeling was one of being outdoors. Of course the views were also amazing. Outside, the large landscaped property provided much privacy and minimal noise from the area resorts or road. Since it was July we spent most of our days lounging in the pool area where there was plenty of shade and we used the pool. The patio area provides for a lovely setting as it is surrounded by beautiful tropical flowers, palm trees and shrubs. We even had excellent wifi Internet access from the patio area as well as throughout the house. While we would have preferred to be directly on the beach, it is only a short walk away. The propertys location between one major resort (Coral Gardens) and a smaller boutique hotel (The Beach House) left a sizable stretch of the beach for our private use, although there is an adjacent area with public access nearby. Another advantage of the houses location is the short walk to two great reef locations for snorkeling (one in front of Coral Gardens, the other in front of Aquamarine Beach House). Car rental is a must for grocery shopping and getting to restaurants in the Grace Bay Road area or beyond.
We LOVED Villa Camilla and TURKS! Had a great time. After getting over the shock of the cost of my bag of coffee ($25) and some other things, we settled in and had a very relaxing, restful time. (Smile) That was our goal ... and I think our sons even enjoyed the low-key atmosphere. I loved being at the house and just opening up the doors in the evenings and hanging out. Very comfortable. Enjoyed cooking and grilling out for a few of our dinners. We tended to go to the beach in the mornings and then return in the afternoons to the pool to just rest in the shade a bit and be nearer the house so we could have beverages and snacks. w It's lovely and just a very relaxing place!
Villa Camilla is breathtaking and a truly beautiful property. The landscaping around the huge yard and pool is well maintained, lush, and beautiful. The beach with snorkeling is a 2 minute walk from the back yard, there is a hammock at the pool, there is plenty of outdoor seating, and the huge windows in the house let you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Turks and Caicos (the beach and the landscape) from inside the house. I love this property. The walk to the beach is right past the pool, the walkway is well maintained, and private. The property sits away from the immediate beach which makes it private, peaceful, and is great for relaxing. There is a reef on the beach to the right that is surrounded by buoys. For people that want to snorkel, you can start here- there is plenty of coral and fish to see and is well tied off and public so safe for children too. There are strategically located showers around the property to rinse your sandy feet and salty body after spending time at the beach. There are restaurants within beach walking distance which is also a bonus. There is everything available for a pool party and group fun. There are plenty of towels and beach chairs, plastic wine glasses, etc, and a grill for making whatever you desire. It is also great if you just want to spend your afternoon sitting on the lounge chair under the umbrella enjoying the pool. I was there in July but was completely comfortable in the house. I can't get over how beautiful this property is. I definitely recommend it and hope to be back soon.
