Walk to the ever-popular Rum Point Club from this ideally located villa. At Rum Point, locals and visitors alike gather for food, drinks, and fun on a great beach with acres of glassy, shallow water for wading and snorkeling. If you’d rather, you can boat to Rum Point—Villa La Playa has its own private boat dock reaching into the tranquil inlet. (Talk to us, Cayman Villas, about how to rent a boat for your stay on Grand Cayman!)
Another standout feature at Villa La Playa? Its sublime outdoor area, poised at the edge of the balmy Caribbean inlet. Here, a glittering waterfront swimming pool seems to merge with the white, sandy beach beyond it, a covered gazebo provides refuge from the sun, and a sprawling porch with wicker furniture coaxes you into cocktails and conversation on a long, lazy afternoon.
Guests at Villa La Playa tell us its quaint appearance on the outside can be deceiving—they’re surprised to discover just how spacious it is inside! Find 2 living rooms (one downstairs and one in a lofted space upstairs), a dining table that seats six, and a big kitchen with lots of room for multiple cooks to congregate and make dinner. The 4 bedrooms at Villa La Playa include one king-sized bedroom, 2 queen-sized bedrooms, and one bunk-room with a twin bed bunked on top of a full-sized bed. Your group will never feel squeezed into this space, with each room—even the bathrooms—providing plenty of room to breathe!
We have stayed in Cayman Kai several times. It was great to have a beach bar within walking distance. The house was casual, but in good condition. We would definitely consider returning.
